This compilation consists of the various loops and transitions that comprise a section of the interactive combat music in the game Archangel Initially I imagined these transitions would wait for either the next measure or a specified transition point but when the music lags behind the action it really degrades the presentation. I found that having a small lead-in to a sharp pivot with a strong percussive accent feels better. It delivers more cinematically because it's paced better. Additionally, more times than not, these pivots are also accompanied by either something exploding, or a dialogue line, or some other extra-musical event that captures the player's attention and helps contextualize the musical change. If it's accompanying visuals, music is never in a vacuum.
